# Authentication

Allianz validates each request using the partner's **ACCAM**, **user ID** and **password**. All three are assigned by Allianz.

* **Credentials** are sent in the request body, in the `credentials` object (`userName` and `password`) of the quote request.
* **ACCAM** is a unique code that identifies the partner. It is sent in the request.
* The partner password differs between the UAT and production environments.

The Core API also has [`POST /authtokens`](/api-reference/core/auth-tokens/create), which exchanges a user name and password for a token with an expiration time.
