# Purchase Web Service

The Purchase Web Service processes JSON purchase requests from Partners and returns a response.

## Technology overview

If the customer buys the insurance product from the Quote Response, the Partner sends the purchase to AWP for billing and processing. AWP sends a successful response once it has received and processed the policy.

> **Info**
>
> All transactions happen in real time. Each request is a single insurance purchase tied to a specific travel booking.

## Environments

UAT and Production behave the same. Only the access URL differs.

| Environment | Purchase URL |
| ----------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| UAT | `https://uatgateway.americas.allianz-assistance.com/servlet/SendPurchases/rest` |
| Production | `https://gateway.americas.allianz-assistance.com/servlet/SendPurchases/rest` |

> **Warning**
>
> Use the credentials Allianz issued for the environment you're calling. UAT and Production passwords differ.

## Purchase process

#### Send a Purchases Request

The Purchases Request lets the Partner send one or more travel insurance purchases to AWP. Each purchase relates to a specific travel booking and can contain one or more products for which a policy is generated, modified, or cancelled. Each product can cover one or more travelers, depending on the product type and the number of travelers in the booking.

#### Read the Purchases Response

The response has an overall status that tells the Partner whether AWP processed the request. It also has a billing status for each purchase in the request, and a policy number for each product that was processed and paid for.

> **Note**
>
> Pass the `quoteId` and `productCode` from the Quote Response into the Purchase Request.
